'Elecampane' is a plant seemingly from the tall forbs mountainous vegetation of Central Asia, widely cultivated as a medicinal plant across Europe from the ancient times up to the XIXth century. As Aristolochia clematitis starting with the industrial production of drugs, the cultivation of this plant stopped and it remained as a sporadical ruderal invader. See about this here . In Transylvania it is very common, i.e. in the western part of the Tarnave Tableland and in the southern part of Cluj hills. In most of the national territory it is rare and disparent.
